The Plaza Inn's lunch and dinner specialties range from broasted chicken and pot roast to pasta and salads with convenient cafeteria-style service. Children's menu selections include kid-size chicken and pasta dishes.

Character Breakfast - Begin your morning at the Plaza Inn for "Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park" Character Dining. It's a great way to get charged up for the day with visits from Minnie Mouse and other beloved Disney Characters. The fixed-price buffet offers all your morning favorites including fresh-baked pastries, waffles and made-to-order omelets. Help yourself to all you care to eat while collecting autographs and taking great souvenir photos.

Touring Tips

• Don't expect fine dining when you book a table at the Plaza Inn, but some strides have been made in the quality of the food and the steam table's maintenance. Hit this place right when everything comes fresh, during the transitions from breakfast to lunch and from lunch to dinner, but it's still your basic been-in-the-steam-table-too-long scenario. Breakfast is a serve-yourself buffet, and lunch and dinner are cafeteria-style meals. Kosher meals are also available; call in advance to make arrangements.
• The ornate Victorian decor offers a grand setting for any meal. When the weather is good, you may want to dine outside on the Plaza Inn patio, which is a great spot for people watching or for viewing parades on Main Street, U.S.A.
• Make it a memorable birthday and attend "My Disneyland Birthday Party" at the Plaza Inn. Your host, Pat E. Cake, leads the celebration with music, laughter and cake decorating fun. Bring a camera to capture a special appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Parties occur daily; advance reservations are recommended.

History

The Plaza Inn, originally called the Red Wagon Inn, has been feeding hungry Guests since opening day in 1955, and was one of Walt Disney's favorite dining spots. The restaurant is decorated with authentic 19th-century furnishings, including the jewel-like Victorian stained glass and ornate woodwork salvaged from a grand old home in Los Angeles.
