Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is inspired by the romance and pageantry of the historic French Quarter in New Orleans, and where every day is a celebration. Step through a wrought-iron portal into an alluring world of delicious Cajun food, jazz music and dazzling parades. Stroll cobblestone walkways and gaze down from balconies with delicate railings as you listen to the smooth jazz backdrop and breathe in the sweet smell of magnolia blossoms in the air. As you pass by the ornate street signs, antique gas lampposts and fountains, you may just feel like you've been transported to The Big Easy.

The comfortable Guest rooms are situated along landscaped lanes, with some overlooking the Sassagoula River. You'll find the Main Lobby in the resort's central building, The Mint, as well as a food court that serves American and Creole food, live entertainment on select nights at Scat Cat's Lounge and Jackson Square Gifts & Desires.

The lushly landscaped mile-long walking path along the Sassagoula River is great for a stroll to unwind after a busy day. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is just a short walk down river where you can dine or take a horse-drawn carriage ride. The scenic journey feels like you're leaving the big city on your way to the rural countryside.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter features the Doubloon Lagoon 225,000 gallon swimming pool which has a sea-serpent themed water slide named Scales that is jockeyed by King Neptune. This area also includes a hot tub and a children's playground. Doubloon Lagoon—the centrally located pool complex—includes a waterslide that resembles a giant sea serpent. Kids will also enjoy the playground, video game arcade, fishing at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or bike rides.

Recreation

Doubloon Lagoon—with its festive Mardi Gras–inspired decorations, all alligator band and pastel blue sea serpent waterslide—is one of the most colorful and creative pool complexes at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Guests may also swim at the Ol' Man Island pool complex in Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside—located a short walk down the Sassagoula River.

Horse-drawn carriage rides provide an intimate 30-minute trip up and down the scenic Sassagoula River. Carriages depart near Boatwright's Dining Hall in the nearby Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Each carriage can hold either 4 adults—or 2 adults and 3 small children. The trip costs $45 per carriage.

Disney's Osprey Ridge Golf Course boasts dramatic fairways that run through forests of live oak, pine, palmetto, cypress and bay trees. It's located near Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Ol' Man Island—located at nearby Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside—features a wooded alcove that functions as an old-fashioned fishing hole with a catch and release policy.

  • Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory - New Orleans favorites like Muffaletta sandwiches, gumbo and jambalaya join the usual food court fare of pizza and burgers.

Complimentary transportation is available one hour prior to Disney Theme Park opening time up to one hour after Disney Theme Park closing time.
