Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool

Surf Pool is a giant wave pool for Guests of all ages at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Take a dip in the azure blue waters of one of the world's largest wave pools. The surf's up all day long so you're sure to catch a wave! Whether you're a body-surfing enthusiast or you just want to play in the bobbing waves near the shore, the Surf Pool offers something for everyone. Relax and listen to the surf as you lounge on white-sand beaches. Play in the gentle waters away from the action near the shore. Dive right into the excitement where the waves originate away from the shore.

Surf Pool at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is one of the largest inland wave pools in the world. The pool alternates on a 30 minute bobbing wave (basic wave pool wave) / 90 minute surf wave (6 foot high). You can choose to participate in the wave pool activities of swimming and taking on the waves, or lay on the beach with the white sand and beach chairs. The Surf Pool also offers surfing lessons before the park opens at an additional charge.

Surf Lessions

Ever wanted to try surfing but found the ocean a bit intimidating? Now, Guests who are at least 8 years old can learn how to surf in a fun, safe, controlled environment. Hang 10 in the waters of Typhoon Lagoon! Have the bay to yourself before the Water Park opens to master the fine art of shooting the curls created by the Disney's Typhoon Lagoon enormous wave machine. Professional instructors and small classes at Craig Carroll's Cocoa Beach Surf School can help anyone improve their form during a 2-hour session where there's surf every 90 seconds. Surf the controlled waters of the bay as perfect waves are formed every 90 seconds and ride like it's an endless summer. The Surf Pool waves can be adjusted up to 6 feet in height. It's totally tubular!

Touring Tips

• Get there early if you want a chair or group of chairs.
• Surf lessons take place in the early morning before Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park opens and the lesson price includes use of the Surf Pool and facilities at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park only during the lesson. You will need to purchase admission to the Water Park if you want to stay in the Park after the lesson.
• Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
• Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Typhoon Lagoon attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.
