Summit Plummet

Disney's Blizzard Beach

  • Type: Thrill Ride
Height: 48 inches (122cm) or taller
Experience: Thrill Rides

Summit Plummet is a thrilling, high-speed waterslide with a 12-story drop at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. This premier waterslide attraction for big kids, teens and adults is not for the faint of heart. At a "chilling" 120 feet high, this sky-scraping ski jump of a thrill ride down the slopes of Mount Gushmore is one of the world's tallest and fastest free-fall body slide. The adrenalin-pumping vertical drop will send "chills" up your spine as you plunge down the 360-foot long flume and through a darkened tunnel at speeds from 50 to 60 miles per hour. A digital readout at the bottom displays each rider's speed.

Touring Tips

  • To get to Summit Plummet ride the Chairlift to the top of Mount Gushmore or take the stairway path and follow the signs to the attractions at the Green Slope area of the mountain. You must be at least 48 inches tall to ride Summit Plummet.
  • This attraction can and will get very busy on the hot summer days. We recommend riding this as soon as possible if you didn't want to wait in line.
  • Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
  • Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Blizzard Beach attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.
