Slush Gusher

Disney's Blizzard Beach

  • Type: Mild Thrill Ride
Height: 48 inches (122cm) or taller
Experience: Thrill Rides

Slush Gusher is a 90-foot tall high-speed waterslide for big kids, teens and adults at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Take a brisk ride down Mount Gushmore over not one, but two rolling hills as you zip down this exhilarating waterslide. Although a bit tamer than its neighbor Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher is a thrilling ride for active, waterslide enthusiasts. Zip down and find out for yourself!

Slush Gusher is a 250-foot-long snow-banked mountain gully body slide attraction that reaches speeds up to 35 miles per hour. It has two places where it almost levels off, only to drop back down again. As such, it is one of only a few water slides where "air time" is achieved. If you want to reach maximum air, raise your crossed-legs just before you reach the second hump and keep straight.

Although a bit tamer than its big brother and Blizzard Beaches' icon ride the Summit Plummet the Slush Gusher is not a ride you want overlook. The Slush Gusher has no turns, however it has two large mounds that will slow you down and speed you up as you make you're decent. When it comes to slides at the Blizzard Beach this awesome high speed adventure is one you definitely want to take.

Touring Tips

  • To get to Slush Gusher ride the Chairlift to the top of Mount Gushmore or take the stairway path and follow the signs to the attractions at the Green Slope area of the mountain. Take the stairs or the Chair Lift to get to this 90 foot steep, 2 hill slide.
  • This attraction can and will get very busy on the hot summer days. We recommend riding this as soon as possible if you didn't want to wait in line.
  • Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
  • Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Blizzard Beach attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.

Facts

  • Highly trained and qualified lifeguards are on duty over the course of the day patrolling the Water Park. All Disney lifeguards must complete a thorough training program that exceeds most national standards.
