Heimlich's Chew Chew Train

Ride around the track as this talkative Bavarian caterpillar invites you on a smell-icious journey through his favorite food! The hilarious Heimlich winds his way through one snack after another. Smell each snack as he chomps through every delectable tidbit: watermelon, carrots, candy corns and more! You'll soon discover he's not particularly "chew-sy" about what he likes to eat. His belly seems to be bottomless!

Guests board a train in the shape of Heimlich, the German-accented caterpillar from the film. Heimlich himself narrates the ride through the speakers on the trains. Heimlich's tendency to overeat is the theme of the ride, as the train appears to eat through oversized portions of human foods: candy corn, animal crackers, carrots, Brussels sprouts and watermelon. Appropriate scents accompany the giant food sets so guests can sniff to attract them. Large bites have been taken out of all the foods, so guests can tell that Heimlich has been there before. At the ride's end, Heimlich bids guests farewell and reminds them to eat their fruits and vegetables.

Touring Tips

• Heimlich's Chew Chew Train completes its route in 1 minute and 35 seconds. The track is smooth and flat and slowly winds through a watermelon, a box of animal crackers, and past other delicious treats. There are nine seating sections to Heimlich, each will accommodate up to two adults. Passengers must wear a seatbelt.
• The wait for this attraction tends to be under 10 minutes. Wait times more than 15 minutes are rare.
• Of all the Flik's Fun Fair rides, Heimlich's Chew Chew Train is probably the favorite among adults, not because it has any particular thrill, but because of its good-natured humor.
• The queue is wheelchair/ECV accessible, but guests using ECVS must transfer to the vehicle. Guests in wheelchairs may remain in their chair and board a specially designed vehicle.
• The closest restroom is next to Flik's Fliers - in a "tissue box"!
• Flik and Atta make appearances in front of the attraction It's Tough to be a Bug in a bug's land.
• The watermelon is very juicy so you might get a little wet.

• Heimlich's Chew Chew Train first opened in 2002, along with the rest of A Bug's Land.
• In the movie, "A Bug's Life", Heimlich's transformation into a butterfly leaves him with wings that are too small to carry him.
• Pixar animator Joe Ranft performs the voice of Heimlich.
